MELBOURNE SLUDGE-CUM PUNK ROCK THREE PIECE, BATPISS HAVE DELIVERED ANOTHER STERLING RELEASE 'WEATHERBOARD MAN"

The PISS have channelled another grim, yet poignant motion within their sound and vision with this, their newest delicacy from their forthcoming album due out in June, through Poison City Records.

With the masterful ear in prodcution by Garath Liddiard of The Drones, BATPISS have devised another unhinged Guitar ladden narritive within the fabric of this track, "WEATHERBOARD MAN"

Guitarist Paul Pirie explains; " I hope the song comes across pretty direct. Its a universal western theme; inheriting a shit legacy of genocide and disenfranchisement, and realising that once you've rattled off all your own personal problems and hardship, your probably still don't have any right to be standing where you're standing."

Pretty gritty stuff.... Paul continues....

"My Granddad had his old super 8 film rolls converted to digital, and amongst the family stuff is about 20 minutes of film he shot on Christmas Day 1974 in Darwin, the morning after "Cyclone Tracy".

What you see in the clip is what he saw driving around that morning, his Malboro reds reflected on the windscreen and the carnage. We thought it was nicely summed our fragile human existence. This footage of "Cyclone Tracy" has never been seen before."

Speaking at large here, I'm moved by the songs narrative and imagery to detail the damage and devistation that was caused on that terrible day, some 40+ years ago. As Paul notes, its been brought to attention that when we think the worst of ourselves, to always think of others in their terrible situations. Todays society is so encapsulated within its own celular universe, (self within the self) that speaking about a devestation like "Cyclone Tracy" doesn't even amount to the true pain and suffering like those that had lost their family homes, jobs and persons that are apart of their own lives, some humans aren't as humble as they should be; thus demonstrates that we are a decline within a global society.

*OUCH*
